HEALTHCARE SUPPORT PROJECTS

1.Healthcare Support Project for Elders.
Elders are potential in many societies. As a Healthcare Support Group we care for Elders Health.

2.Healthcare Support Project for People with Disability.

People with Disability are potential and they can like others, so as a Healthcare Support Group we care for their health. They need love, wisdom, compassion and filling of justice from the community.

Showing that this group should be considered in all aspects of life, in 2004, the government through its Ministry of Labour, Youth Development and Sports issued the policy which is ''The National Policy on Disability'' .The policy provides guidelines and sets parameters for services delivery by strongly focusing on the development, rights and dignity of People with Special Needs. Therefore, as Usambara Healthcare Support Group (UHSG) we aim to support the government on its efforts to set conducive environment for healthcare to people with disability and influence the community awareness on  information for public health policy.

3.Healthcare Support Project for Women and Children.

The world is not hungry with many reasons. One reason we believe, is the presence of women to  care for the world we live.Women and children are potential in any society simply because we always see the new and strong generation when we see  Healthy women. As a Health Care Support Group we care for Women and Children's health. Also we ought to educate and sensitize the community to have a feeling of love, wisdom, compassion and feeling of justice to Women and Children. The community can donate in different ways for the purpose of seeing happy women and children all over the world.

When addressing women's lives, it is crucial to examine the underlying social, cultural, environmental, epidemiological and economic determinants of health (Marmot, Friel, Bell, Houeling & Taylor, 2008).

The WHO states that, today women's health has become an urgent priority, yet the data surrounding this issue are limited and often unreliable (WHO, 2009). As Usambara Healthcare Support Group we aim to improve the health, healthcare and well being of women around Usambara Mountains. Depending on the global region and social, political and economic climate, a range of activities and strategies are required to achieve optimal health outcomes. We should plan strategic initiatives to be undertaken within a framework of cultural competence and consideration of the healthcare to women and children.

In most societies, women have lower social status than men, producing unequal power relations. This is one of the reason women can be particularly vulnerable to human rights abuses and suffer poor health outcomes as a result. Women need special attention when framing an agenda for global health due to the fact that women are biologically different from men and therefore have different needs throughout their life span (Sankaran, 2010).
There is a need first, to examine the relationship among socio - cultural structures that influence the health and well being of women, Second, identifying areas of need and facilitating, implementing and evaluating solutions to potential and actual health problems of women of all ages, Third, to provide information for public policy related to women and children's health.

The Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is the principal international human rights treaty addressing the rights of women. In 1997 the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) adopted a resolution calling on all specialized agencies of the UN to mainstream a gender perspective into all their policies and programmes. Numerous other conferences and declarations have resulted in the reaffirmation of women's rights and needs in the health sector (Sankaran,2010).

The health of women is a global issue, and therefore global co-operation and collaboration needs to occur in policy, practice, education and research. In order for further improvement to take place, professional organizations need to be consulted and included in discussions surrounding women's health; this includes research collaborations and partnerships, including public-private collaborations. Partinaships with parliamentarians, religious leaders, media, businesses, civil society groups, women's and Youth groups, research institutions, and non- govermental organizations also must be considered (Shaw, 2006).

Child Health and Development

The early childhood years are a period of great opportunity but also great vulnerability. Responsive care giving and nurturing, balanced nutrition and safe environment are important for children to live, learn, grow and develop to their full potential. Care for Child Development (CCD) can be fully inter grated in nutrition and health interventions, making the critical link between healthy growth and development (WHO, 2018). Usambara Healthcare Support Group will also consider Children especially under 12 years as a special group that need more attention as a result of having strong and healthy adults.

The Children of today will be the adults of tomorrow, if they survive. It is in the field of child health that we can see the complete fusion of prevention and cure. All medical attention given to child is truly a preventive in relation to the adult which the child will become. If we love our children, we must take care of their health and well being from birth through puberty.
